Author Biography

Jim Hoskins is a well known author and former "IBMer" with ten years experience as an IBM design engineer and development manager. As part of the original development team for the IBM PS/2 family, Jim wrote IBM Personal Systems: A Business Perspective, which sold over 100,000 copies in 12 languages. Jim has written many other books and is the editor of the Exploring IBM series. He resides in Gulf Breeze, Florida with his wife Monica and four sons; Nik, Sam, Ben, and Nate. Doug Davies is the manager of the IBM RS/6000 Executive Briefing Centers in Austin, Texas and Poughkeepsie, New York. He has a Bachelor's degree in engineering from Penn State and an MBA from Duke University. He joined IBM in 1981 and has held a number of engineering and management positions. Doug resides in Austin, Texas with his wife Kim, daughters; Tabitha and Sarah, and son Stephen.
