Author Biography

In the 1970s Jim McLennan began guiding fly fishers on Alberta's Bow River. Since then his writing and photography have appeared in numerous outdoor publications, including Fly Fisherman, Northwest Fly Fishing, The Virtual Fly Shop, and Gray's Sporting Journal. His previous books are Blue Ribbon Bow and Trout Streams of Alberta. For eighteen years he was co-owner of Country Pleasures, a Calgary fly-fishing store. In the 1990s he hosted the television series Iron Blue Fly Fishing, and today he is a frequent speaker at events sponsored by fly-fishing clubs and conservation organizations. He fly-fishes extensively throughout the West. Jim lives with his wife Lynda, daughter Deanna, and three bird dogs in southern Alberta, splitting time between fishing, hunting, writing, and carrying out responsibilities as Regional Business Manager for the Orvis Company in the Rocky Mountain northwest
