Author Biography

Sue Cobley founded Chefs to the Rescue, a division of The Idaho Foodbank, which rescues surplus prepared food from restaurants, caterers and other sources, and delivers it directly to people in need. Kathryn Babcock and Jan Richardson introduced Shelternet (www.shelternet.ca), which offers a safe online environment through which Canadian women can connect with the shelters closest to them and develop safety plans. June Nielsen founded Quilts from Caring Hands, an Oregon-based organization that creates individually designed quilts for children with special needs. Tera Leigh is the founder of the Memory Box Artist program. Tera's corps of dedicated volunteer artists create and donate one-of-a-kind boxes to hospitals around the world for use in infant bereavement. Dena Wortzel is the director of Wisconsin's Motheread/FathereadR family literacy program, whose participants seek to improve their own lives and the lives of their children through literacy.
