Author Biography

Dr. Barbara Ann Kipfer is an archaeologist, lexicographer, former sports writer, hiker, and author. She is the author of nearly 70 books, including: Hiking is Fundamental (Falcon Guides), Archaeologist's Fieldwork Guide 2e (Wiley), Encyclopedic Dictionary of Archaeology 2e (Springer), 14,000 things to be happy about (Workman), and 1,001 Ways to Live Wild (National Geographic).

Dr. Kipfer holds a PhD in Archaeology (Greenwich University), BS in Physical Education (Valparaiso University), PhD and MPhil in Linguistics (University of Exeter), and MA and PhD in Buddhist Studies (Akamai University).
