Author Biography

Lord Robert Winston (foreword writer) is Professor of Science and Society and Emeritus Professor of Fertility Studies at Imperial College London. Robert is one of a kind - a world-renowned scientist, television presenter, and writer, who has combined groundbreaking academic work with an ability to communicate ideas and understanding to the general public. He has used his unique expertise to contribute towards numerous successful DK books including Ask a Scientist (2019), STEAM Team (2018), Maker Lab (2016), and Utterly Amazing Human Body (2015).

Trent Kirkpatrick is an elementary science teacher who has been working in New York City public schools for more than a decade. In that time, he has received specialized training in STEM education, science pedagogy, Maker Space, Phenomenon-Based Science Inquiry, and the Next Generation Science Standards. He was an educational consultant on DK's STEAM Team.
